General George Patton once said, “If we are all thinking alike, someone ain’t thinking!”
Truer words were never spoken. But we can all think in one direction and develop different ideas and processes to get to the best answer for the good of the whole. Notice I didn’t say we could come up with answer everyone will like; but an answer that is best for the good of the whole!
As we go to the polls on November 18th, don’t fall into the trap of “drinking the Kool-Aid and believing we will all come together into one big glorious circle, hold hands, always love each other, always agree with each other and sing Kumbaya and the world will be peace, flowers, and everything you want.” The real world doesn’t work that way no matter what a false prophet might try to sell you. It works through compromise and working toward the best solution possible for everyone to be able to live with.
If you want to “Keep Folly, Folly’”, my campaign slogan since 2002, and have a community that we can all be proud of, then I urge you to elect Chris Bizzell Mayor on November 18th. Chris has a vision of carrying Folly forward into the future, not a plan to drag her back into the past.
Soon to be Former Mayor and private citizen,
Tim Goodwin
