As a Folly condo owner & full time resident of Mariners Cay/Marshview Villas, I want to help protect Folly Beach. I support the STR cap, which currently includes all pockets of Folly, including mine. It allows condo associations to continue to qualify for affordable insurance rates and allows our tight knit resident communities to thrive. If condo owners & HOA’s are exempt from the cap, as some propose, that would be a nightmare for us here. I do not want to live in a Disneyland environment 6 months of the year & probably could no longer afford it. I support Chris because he’s been clear and consistent in defending the Short-Term Rental Cap & its current amendments, as fair and necessary.
That said, Chris sees the bigger picture — not just the STR issue. From flooding and infrastructure issues to fiscal responsibility and maintaining Folly’s unique character, I think Chris approaches every challenge transparency, and a long-term vision. On his website, he has laid out detailed plans to tackle each challenge.
Folly deserves leadership like Chris’ to keep all of our communities strong. That’s why I’m proud to support Chris Bizzell for Mayor of Folly Beach.
